The Magic of Alcohol Ink Self-Study Workshop
Learn how to create gorgeous alcohol ink artwork at your own pace, on your own schedule
The Magic of Alcohol Ink Self-Study Workshop is a rich, robust journey into the exciting world of alcohol inks. I will lead you step by step through everything you need to know about how to create gorgeous artwork with this playful medium. I'll introduce you to the basics of how to get started, show you my go-to techniques and tools, share my personal tips and best practices, and serve as your guide and mentor as you explore and experiment and create.
While some classes are designed to teach you to paint a particular subject (flowers, or landscapes, for example), The Magic of Alcohol Ink is centered on teaching you a wide variety of techniques. This focus on technique rather than subject helps you to develop specific skills and then learn how to use them in a way that supports your own unique artistic vision and expression. Beginning artists will gain the knowledge and tools to get started and begin creating, while the more experienced inky artists will find new ways to deepen and develop your artistic voice and confidence.
This class is a self-study online workshop, which means that all of the content is pre-recorded and available to you 24/7 in the online classroom hosted by Thinkific. When you register, you’ll be prompted to create a free Thinkific account, and this is where you’ll find access to the online classroom and all of the tutorials. The class is designed so that you can work at your own pace, on a schedule that makes sense for you. Plus, you’ll have lifetime access, so that you can rewatch and revisit any of the lessons that you want to, whenever you want.

Questions? Here are some answers
I'm really busy, but I want to take this class... how much time will it take?
You can spend as much or as little time as you have available. All of the content is available in the online classroom, and you can work through the material at your own pace. The lessons are designed so that you can move around and choose which ones to take next, so it's really up to you how much time you want to spend. But I warn you, these inks can be addictive, and time will magically speed up as you begin experimenting... :)
I'm a complete newbie to alcohol inks... is this class for me?
Yes, absolutely! We begin from the beginning--supplies, safety, etc-- and move through a wide variety of techniques to help you develop a solid grasp of how to work with the inks. While you can jump around in the course videos however you’d like, if you’re new I recommend just starting at the beginning and working your way through them in order, as I’ve put some of the more basic techniques into the earlier videos.
I've been working with alcohol ink for a while... would I benefit from this class?
I've taught many people of various levels of experience with alcohol ink, and even the most experienced artists have stated that they learned new ways of working that helped them hone and grow their skills in ways that they hadn't been able to on their own. So, yes! Many of my students have taken my class more than once simply because they find they get so much out of it every time, and learn something new even if they’ve been working with alcohol ink for a while.
What kind of supplies do I need for class?
The absolute essentials are a few bottles of any brand of alcohol ink; isopropyl alcohol or blending solution; and Yupo paper. Plus a few tools that you may already have on hand: a hair dryer, some brushes, compressed air. You can download a complete supplies list here.
Will I be able to paint like you some day?
My hope is that you will be able to paint like YOU--to use what you learn in this class to find your own artistic expression. But I definitely will be sharing my go-to techniques and secrets to how I get the kind of effects that you see in my artwork.
Will you be available for me if I have questions during the class?
I will be available to help you via the Magic of Alcohol Ink Facebook Group, so when you have questions, that's the place to post them. Just make sure you tag me in your post so that I see your questions! And I'm always happy to help you with whatever questions you have through email as well, just send me a message!
What’s the deal with the private session option?
Many of my students find that they have questions along the way and would like some individual attention and instruction, so I offer a one-on-one session at a reduced price to make it easy for you to get the help that you need. When you sign up for the self-paced class, you’ll receive a discount code that you can use to purchase a private session with me, and the code will be good for three months after you sign up to give you plenty of time to take me up on the offer :) Sorry, this offer is available only to those who have registered for this class.
How much is the class and how do I sign up?
The cost for the self-study workshop is $99. To sign up, just click the button at the bottom of this page.
What's your refund policy?
As this is a digital product, I’m afraid I’m not able to issue refunds. Thank you for understanding.
